Darren Lyndon Gonzales Espanto, or was known as “Darren” was born on May 24, 2001. With his remarkably age, he is known today as the “The Total Performer” and would be the youngest artist in the world who would be having a first major solo concert. In addition to that, he already established her self-titled album, Darren that it debuted number 1 on Philippine charts of Apple's iTunes store and Astro Chart, and was now a certified Gold.
Making him the youngest performer in the Pasay City, Darren Espanto, The Voice Kids of the Philippines, First Runner Up, will be having a concert on MOA Arena on May 29, five days after Darren’s actual fourteenth birthday entitled “D Total Performance Birthday Party”.
Lea Salonga, one of “The Voice Kids of the Philippines” coach also left a warning to older performers; "To every person Darren idolized, this is a warning to all of you: this kid will outshine you someday".
Where he was raised, Espanto won a contest in 2011 for young Filipinos then went to compete on grand finale of “The Next Star,” a reality talent search which concluded in December 2012.
The Canada-born singer announces his concert in his Instagram post and on showtime during his guesting. Darren, who held back-to-back concert in the Music Museum in San Juan City is best known for his song today, “Inlove Ako Sayo” that topped the MYX Daily Top Ten recently. For sure, Darrenatics have fallen completely inlove with this young star and would continue their support for Darren.
His musical influences are Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. Espanto stated in an interview with push.com.ph that he is truly being inspired by a lot of Filipino singers,
"I idolized Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Jed Madela, Lani Misalucha, coach Sarah Geronimo.” he added.Darren never expected this much success for his first original song and is just so grateful to all of his fans!
